William H. Miller
As Chief Investment Officer and Principal of Gibraltar Wealth Management, Bill has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, with expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection. Early in his career, he was an equity analyst with various investment firms, including Janney Montgomery Scott, Legg Mason and Rutherford, Brown & Catherwood, Inc.
From 1995 to 1997, Bill was an assistant portfolio manager at Delaware Management in Philadelphia where his team oversaw DeCAP and trend funds. As senior portfolio manager at Putnam Investments in Boston from 1997 to 1999, he co-managed an all-capitalization equity strategy and also co-designed and launched a small capitalization equity strategy. Bill held two positions with Nationwide Financial from 1999 to 2008—interim CIO and senior portfolio manager. While there, he relocated the firm’s investment department from Ohio to Pennsylvania; established and supervised equity trading, research and portfolio management; built a quantitative research group; and managed more than $16 billion in the firm’s flagship equity fund as well as its asset allocation funds.
Bill spent eight years as chief investment officer at Brinker Capital where he introduced a multi-asset class investment philosophy, growing the firm’s assets under management by $10 billion. He also added quantitative analysis to the investment department, and created a trading department. From 2016 to 2018, Bill was the head of investments for (k)RPG in Gaithersburg, Maryland, concentrating on retirement planning and personal wealth management.
Bill received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Trinity College in 1981.
